Several years ago, Dr. Daniel Hammond believed that he could raise a healthier, better tasting beef. Gyulais® cattle by Mogo Farms is the result. Mogo Farms is a family-run operation based in Florence, Alabama, focused on raising Gyulais cattle, a unique crossbreed of Wagyu and Charolais. Established with a commitment to quality and local agriculture, we combine traditional farming practices with innovative breeding techniques to produce cattle known for their exceptional marbling and robust genetics.

Our Gyulais cattle are raised on our Florence pastures, fed a long-term grain diet to enhance intramuscular fat content, averaging 6.3% in heifers at ten months. This results in a beef profile high in monounsaturated fats, offering a healthier option. The first group of calves, born in 2012, achieved Grand and Reserve Grand Champion titles at the Denver and Houston Livestock Shows.
We operate with sustainability in mind. Our cattle are bred for both premium beef and breeding stock, with services available to improve herds through Gyulais genetics. Beef is sold directly at the Florence Farmers Market (Saturdays, 6 AM–1 PM). We hope to make online orders available through our website in the near future.
